I went to the Harry Potter exhibit at the Ontario Science Centre yesterday. C:
They had props and costumes from the movie, everything was sooooooooo intricately constructed! 8D (Oh, how my inner nerd rejoiced haha.)
My friend bought me a chocolate frog, and I got a sac of every flavored beans to try. (Onion, Gravy, and Fish were traumatic.)

Also, went out for cheesecake in the evening and basically am suffering from a bout of food poisoning right now. ~_~ ugggh too weak to draw.

p.s. I am not a midget. My friend is just really tall.

Movie and book rambles

I was forced into watching a chick flick today; Letters to Juliet.
Usually I am pretty prejudiced toward romance genres and I try to avoid it at all costs but the movie wasn't half bad.
The grandmother was just so sweet! ;__;
Makes me miss my own grandmother a bit since I see her every 2 or 3 years as she is in China.

Also, finished reading Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martel.
I'm not quite sure what to think about it as I mourn for the $20 that was wasted on this.
The first 80~100 pages cannot be more DULL. It is basically a manual that explains book making, and I almost put the book down a couple of times. (And I've never gave up on a story like that.)
The remaining 100 pages were somewhat interesting, especially the conversations between Beatrice the donkey and Virgil the howler monkey.
However, the main character who is supposed to be a reflection of Martel himself is an egomaniac, and the taxidermist is a sociopath, both of them being very unlikeable.

Ah~ I went to korean barbecue today with some friends, and had meat for the first time in a couple weeks! *A* (My household does not cook too much meat.)
I can feel the iron and protein coursing through my veins! Fantabulous! 8'D

To put a damper on this happy mood, I purchased a copy of Yann Martel's new book, Beatrice and Virgil, expecting an epic and symbolic tale told on the multi-dimensional scale as reminiscent of Life of Pi, and boy was I ever wrong.
To be fair, I've only read half of the book so far, and there's always a chance that it may improve. Will probably finish reading it today, hoping for the best.

I was studying behavior modification psychology, and came upon this section about giving kids "time outs" as a way of moderating problem behaviors.
The time out concept in itself is pretty useful, but I remembered how when I was little, my mom would tell me to "reflect" on things I've done wrong during the time out.
Obviously, as a 4 year old, I haven't the slightest idea on what the wrong-doings were, so instead of being all repentant, I would end up day-dreaming a lot.
Telling a small child to reflect is just a silly silly idea, as they haven't developed a concrete moral basis yet and what they need is clear direction.

OTL...I even procrastinate like a nerd.

Speedpaint with watercolour.
I bought a tube of windsor & newton yellow paint just to see how brandname watercolours could be. It's so... gooey. :'D I still like Yarka St. Petersburg's effect though.

Also, apparently I got a 94 on one of my midterm which is mighty strange. :/ There were 3 sections and I left one section completely blank because I didn't study for it at all.
Maybe the prof took it out...? Or perhaps a typing error. *_* Either way I'm keeping quiet ohoho.
